Commercial Vision:

Think of us as a wholesale supplier to the Stock Photo industry.  We are stock photo content provider, exclusively devoted to the production of stock images that meet the requirements of today's highly competitive digital stock photo marketplace.

With over 25 years of involvement in the Stock Photography industry, we have a clear understanding of the needs and requirements for top selling images.

All commercial, stock images are conceptually based.  But it is engrained in our philosophy that we must adapt each of these concepts to the stylistic needs of the art director.  For that reason, you will find a wide range of styles executed here .

Most importantly, we are dedicated to the production of images that sell -- over and over again -- images that are specifically targeted to the needs of the stock photo marketplace.  This includes technical requirements that allow ample type and layover areas in our photographs. Our style is "non-competitive," which is to say that we understand that our image is ultimately subservient to the final client's marketing requirements. This is where our vast experience on both sides of the stock photo marketplace comes into play.

availability of images

While we have a non-exclusive arrangement with all agencies, we do provide exclusivity on the images and "similars" that have been selected by each agency.  We are constantly shooting and re-shooting the top-selling themes. You are always assured of a fresh, targeted approach to the most important imagery.

Our affiliate content provider, Tetra Images, provides images on a non-exclusive basis to photo agencies, while our other company, Stock Photos America, provides images specifically on an American theme.

Personal Vision:

This is the side of my brain that creates images solely to satisfy a personal reflection and vision.  Unfettered by commercial concerns, I feel free to go anywhere my mind takes me.

The medium of photography was born with a heavy reliance on a subject -- something that often leads the photograph down a path toward conceptual art.

I prefer to view the actual process of making the image as having a substantial influence on the final expression of the created work.  Perhaps this is because I spent my earliest life studying painting and only turned to photography later.

We should never forget that even Rembrandt had a commercial side painting portraits of local business men.  Few artists are able to support themselves entirely from their art.

Keeping the two sides separate can be a challenge.  It is difficult to keep a monetary influence out of art.  We all have to survive and not all are fortunate enough to be independently wealthy.  Commercialism in one form or another becomes necessary. Even art galleries are commercial entities.  As such, they can often have a negative influence on an artists work.  Once the artist begins creating to sell instead of to satisfy, the art dies.

I chose a path that keeps the two bodies of work separate  --  commercial on one side, art on the other.   Some artists are capable at mixing the two.  I'm not one of them.
